The youngest child of Falerin Rimescale, Rhogarin Brightwing has lived a sheltered existence for most of his life. The sacrifice of his social life for his education was not his decision but of his parents. Both his older hatch brother and sister had moved on from their arcane studies for their own personal satisfaction leaving Rhogarin the only one to continue his father’s legacy.
Reading took up Rhogarin’s life. At the dinner table, applied magic practice, nobility training, family gatherings and before bed, Rhogarin always had a book in his hand and a sore neck. When he was still considered to be a hatchling, he had cleared out the entire Brightwing Manor of its literature and demanded more.
It was a surprise to no one that Rhogarin gained a scholarship to attend the exclusive Rimescale University. Those ignorant of Rhogarin’s abilities would see this as nothing but his father pushing his child ahead of the line. While partially true, Rhogarin graduated from Rimescale University with moderate success and offered a position as a part-time professor at the University. Under the care of Lord Galaxion Rimescale, Rhogarin was trained for the demanding position in little under a couple months. He took his place as a first-year professor to help initiates better understand the arcane for their more advanced courses.
Rhogarin practically lived at the University which caught the attention of the Great Lady Cinva Rimescale. His lack of social skills and political connections filled Cinva with an overwhelming sense of pity and took it upon herself to get the book wyrm out of the office more.
His first assignment was to assist his brother, Valerian, with locating new arcane crystal deposits and gathering information on the lesser species of the Realm. He allied himself with numerous low life cut-throats including Velroy Denkins and Slade Von Blake. Although he deviated from his mission, he had put an end to a growing cult that was to undermine Aurelia’s divine right as Queen Matriarch by finding the lost Crown of Draekos. His brother was found to be apart of this cult, but Rhogarin insisted that without his help they would have never been able to return the Crown. The Scalesworns have given punishment of Valerian’s crimes over to the Shimmer scale to deal with the traitor as they a see fit as penance for Rhogarin’s heroic service.
